Hi there!

I’m a local writer who moved to Alaska about ten years ago and I’ve been captivated by the stories here ever since.

Alaskans have a deep relationship with storytelling. Whether it’s around a fire, at a fish camp, or on stage at one of the many storytelling events across the state, folks here know how to spin a good yarn.

Story Project Alaska is all about capturing those stories in a relaxed, respectful way. I’m interviewing people from all walks of life - farmers, teachers, store clerks, artists, office workers, elders, students - anyone who’s got a story to share (and let’s be honest, that’s pretty much everyone).

Some stories will be shared as photo essays, others as written pieces or short videos - whatever each person is comfortable with. Your time and perspective are valuable, and I’ll always treat them with care.

This project isn’t about perfection - it’s about connection. It’s about reminding each other that our paths, no matter how different, carry wisdom, humor, grit, and heart. And when we take the time to listen, we realize just how much we all have in common.

If you’ve got a story (or think someone else does), let’s chat. I’d love to hear it.
